The brief
The Elizabeth line is one of the biggest transport projects London has ever seen, and its opening was a moment for the whole city. Transport for London wanted the brand new stations to carry that message, with large format marketing materials that welcomed passengers, explained the journey from Crossrail to the Elizabeth line and celebrated the new east west railway.

Large format poster printing, made for the Underground
We printed the full campaign in house as large format posters, using a mixture of vinyl and foamex boards so each piece suited its spot. Vinyl prints dropped cleanly into the curved poster frames that line the platform tunnels, while rigid foamex boards gave the freestanding and wall mounted posters a flat, premium finish. Every poster was colour matched to the Elizabeth line purple and the Transport for London blues, so the whole network reads as one campaign.
Telling the story of a railway
Alongside the headline messages, Welcome to Liverpool Street, Connecting Farringdon to the Elizabeth line and Completing your east west railway, we produced detailed information posters. The Railway Timeline traces the project from its first proposals through construction to opening day, and the Delivering the Elizabeth line panels explain trial running, commissioning and the lessons learnt. Fine text, photography and crisp graphics all had to stay sharp and readable at platform distance.
Why it worked
Station environments are unforgiving. Posters are seen by thousands of passengers every day, photographed and shared, so there is no room for banding, colour shifts or poor finishing.
