The brief
An NHS team wanted to transform a plain staff breakout room into somewhere people actually want to spend their break. It needed to feel relaxed and modern, but in a healthcare setting it also had to meet a much higher bar for hygiene than an ordinary interior.
A feature wall that lifts the room
We designed and printed a custom wallpaper with a soft sage geometric pattern that ties together the blue banquette seating, the framed botanical prints and the clean lines of the room. The result is calm, contemporary and a world away from the usual clinical look.
The wallpaper was printed on our Liyu 3.2m roll to roll printer. Its extra wide format lets us produce large panels with fewer joins, so the pattern flows seamlessly across the whole wall.
Antibacterial protection built in
The real difference is the finish. We sealed the print with our antibacterial laminate film, a clinically approved specialist lamination that eliminates 99% of bacteria that come into contact with it and protects against the growth of microorganisms on the printed surface.
That makes it ideal anywhere surfaces are touched by lots of people every day. In a busy staff room it means the wall can be wiped down with confidence and keeps protecting the team between cleans.
